Hello World!

Hello, my name’s Nicole, I’m 23, I’m Scottish and at the moment; I’m a corporate cat.

One of biggest things I see in the corporate world is that women aren’t confident in their fashion choices – or in other areas for that matter. Fashion is an extension of your personality, and in the workplace that extension stops dead in its’ tracks.

When you feel good in what you’re wearing, you stand taller, you smile more. You’re more confident in grabbing opportunities and in striving to be better. You stand out from the crowd, you radiate from within, you’re the colour amongst a sea of grey.

I’ll be exploring ways in which you can feel your best in your career, centered around how we dress ourselves. However, that’s just the start – Fashion is not something that exists in our dresses, fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, it’s in the way we live and what’s happening around us.

  1. Hey Nicole, just wanna say your blog looks awesome so far! Loving the look and feel!

Though one thing I noticed, there’s no “About me” page. Not sure if it’s because I am currently surfing via mobile and I am aware this is like your “About me” post but I’d really recommend you to place one separately on the site so that your visitors can find out who they are “listening” to.

People usually look for the “About Me” page when they “step” Into a website. It’s like stepping into a strangers’ home, you’d want to find out who’s the owner first and what he or she is all about 😉

Anyway, your blog is really lovely and I feel that it can be something more. Hence I am sharing what I saw, a point which might be holding your site back from its true potential.

I feel that you got some great content up here, awesome sense of fashion and definitely a good character. Love your idea of inspiring people via what they wear too.

    Stay awesome and inspired bud!

    1. Hi David – thanks for your reply! Yes, you’re right the ‘Hello World’ post was supposed to serve as an About Me page – I’ll definitely get it moved to a separate location – thanks so much for the advice and feedback! I am loving doing the blogging! Any tips for extending your reach and locking in some followers?

      1. Npm! Always nice to have new passionate bloggers joining in the blogosphere.

One of the best ways to do what you asked, is to engage with the community. Visit other people’s blogs, read and leave a comment on their work.

You can try finding new blogs, review their blog for them and ask them to review yours in return. This can, not only help you get noticed by getting yourself onto the radar of other bloggers (Who visits their blog), it also establishes new friendships too.

Especially if you guys are actually working on something similar, it might even lead to future collaborations with each other 😉

I’m not sure if they still do this but what I know is that WordPress organizes a weekly “Community Pool” every Monday, putting up a post (Community Pool), telling every bloggers to comment in there and get everyone to contribute to each others’ blogs by giving feedback etc.

I met quite a few friends there when I first started out last year and the amazing thing? These friends are still my pals even now, which is just awesome!

All in all, great content is what drives traffic and I feel that you are doing fine in that department so keep up the good work. Just put yourself out there to be seen now and I’m pretty sure you’ll start seeing traffic growth.

If you got any other questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them 😉

        Your pal,
        David Long
