Yeah Christian, but sometimes our feet hurt too.

[‘The Higher the Better’] said Christian Louboutin.

and don’t get me wrong – I love a heel. Not only because I’m 5″4 and most of my male colleagues tower above me, but because they make me feel powerful, they make me feel confident and quite frankly I just feel a little dumpy without them.

But, as Business Insider said ‘Wearing high heels every day can suck’ and today I just did not feel like wearing them.

This made me think about how I can convey what heels do for me into flats. I’m always drawn to a pointed toe. A rounded ballerina flat just takes me back to my school days. For me, rounded toes are unprofessional and juvenile. I also have similar distaste for bows – stay away from the bows.

New research says you can judge 90% of a person’s personality by their shoes; so it pays to make the effort.

I like my flats to be eye catching, because I’m losing the elevation of the heel I want them to be distinct. Preferably through means of strappy detail or bold patterns.
Personally, I like darker colours, but feel free to experiment with some strong blues or reds.
Just remember – keep the point!

These amazing flats by New Look are an absolute steal at £22.99. They are extremely similar to the Aquazurra Christy Leather Pointed Toe (priced at an eye-watering £435) with metallic heel adding to the professionalism.

These flats get the high-five with regards to the bolder pattern. The TPU insert after the pointed toe gives a modern twist, pairing elegance with edge.

I adore this shoe. Teamed with scuba pencil skirt and blouse, the shoe stands out from a mile away. The high strap encasing the ankle draws attentionwhilst the reptile print pattern is rich yet versatile, with the ability to be matched with a variety of colours and an easy switch from day-to-night on a Friday evening.
